About the Artist - Entei Ryu

Entei Ryu is a Tokyo-based concept artist, sculptor, and illustrator whose work spans concept art, digital sculpture, traditional painting, and comics. She has contributed to projects including Final Fantasy XVI, Assassin’s Creed, and Death Stranding. Her work spans concept art, digital sculpture, traditional painting, and comics. She is the author of the art books CHIMERA: Entei Ryu Artworks, MERCURY: The Sculptural Works of Entei Ryu, and SKETCHAOS: Uncollected Works 2017–2025.

Ryu's main intention was to explore the darker side of the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and to portray one of its most compelling antagonists, Renoir, expertly depicting the maelstrom of his emotions from a moment taken from the game narrative.
